My Goal is to be Better Prepared!
In June, I participated in the Arizona State Jiu- Jitsu Championship in Phoenix. I competed in both the Gi and No-Go divisions. To prepare I had to practice every day. For one hour a day, I practiced moves such as the scissor sweep, take downs, and chokes. I was ready for the big day!
The event room was really big with lots of people. I got to watch a few fights before my matches. I won my first fight in Gi. For my next in the semifinals, I came in with hope but I lost. It wasn’t enough. I earned a bronze medal in that division.
Then I had lunch. I didn’t eat too much because I didn’t want to be too full during the next round. But I lost the last round and didn’t medal at all.
I learned for next time to take more time to warm up and to try harder. Even though I lost my last tournament, I’m pumped for the next one. I’m headed to Vegas at the end of August for the Jiu Jitsu International Kids Con! To get better prepared than last time, I’m going to work on my quickness, strength, and submissions because that will guarantee a win!
