The MAMA Awards (Mnet Asian Music Awards) are one of the world’s largest, most prestigious annual K-pop music ceremonies, hosted by CJ ENM. Since 1999, the event has celebrated top K-pop talent and Asian artists.

The D Awards are similar to the MAMA Award. They are the Asian artist awards. The D Awards were started by the Korean newspaper Sports Dong-a. There are awards like Best Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year, and Best Song of the Year. This year the D Awards happened on Feb. 11, 2026, at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium.

The winners at the 2026 D Awards were Artist of the Year: ENHYPEN, Album of the Year: Karma by Stray Kids, Song of the Year: “If I Say I Love You” by BOYNEXTDOOR, Record of the Year: Odyssey by RIIZE and much more. I watched the D Awards and it was great. Out of these winners my favorite is Stray Kids and I definitely agree they deserved Album of the Year.      

The 2025 MAMA Awards took place on Nov. 28 and 29 at the Kai Tak Stadium. The 2025 MAMA Winners were Best Artist of the Year: G-Dragon, Best Album of the Year: Karma by Stray Kids, Best Song of the Year: “APT.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars, and Best Visionary: Kpop Demon Hunters.

The next MAMA Awards will happen in late November or early December in Hong Kong.

The most awarded Artist, BTS, holds the record for the most MAMA wins in history, with over 50 total awards, including numerous Daesangs (Grand Prizes) for Artist, Album, and Worldwide Icon of the Year. K-pop has grown a lot over the years and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
