Worksheets April 2026
Welcome to Spring, Educators!
We hope your students did well on their state testing. Bear Essential News’ April edition is here and highlights some amazing desert critters. The new worksheets that go with this issue are on Bear’s website. If you’d like newspapers for your school or organization, please call toll free: 1-866-NEWS KID (639-7543).
These worksheets and free classroom presentations on writing and reporting are provided by the non-profit Bear Essential Educational Services. Thank you for utilizing the newspaper and the worksheets with your students!
Thanks to all our Bear Essential News fans who stopped by our booth at the Tucson Festival of Books last month. Many visitors signed up for the free Young Reporters Program and your students can, too!
The spectacular Arizona SciTech Festival continues statewide and ends at the end of April. There are many inspiring STEAM events still to go, and Bear Essential is a proud sponsor of the festival. Go to AZSCITECH.COM for a list of events that will spark your students’ interests!
Bear Essential News also partners with Phoenix Fan Fusion. Check out the “Adventures of Sunset & Meteor!” Readers can win a Family 4-pack of Passes by entering the Fan Fusion Contest on our contest page. Fan Fusion happens June 5 thru 7, so check out fanfusion.com.
Any student in grades 2–8 can join our free award-winning Young Reporters Program! Reporters can choose the stories they’d like to cover or you can help make suggestions. Or kids can specialize in covering STEM-based stories as Science Reporters as we partner with the SciTech Festival.
The list of free classroom presentations is under the Teachers Tab. Call 1-866-NEWS KID if your school or organization would like free presentations by me on writing or different aspects of reporting!
