Tempe Festival of the Arts has a 50+ year history in Tempe and takes place in early December and early to mid-March each year.  It is one of the oldest festivals in the Southwest.   The festival has grown to become a Tempe point of pride and a favorite of our residents and visitors.   Guests enjoy artists from around the country, local music, a Kids Block and many great food options – all located on the streets of historic Mill Avenue.

KIDS BLOCK – FALL 2025

Saturday – Sunday

A hands-on interactive block for young artists and a youth exhibition featuring over 300 student works from around the Valley – on display and for sale. Get your young creatives involved with the festival in a new way with community partners, who will be on-site doing take away projects with young visitors! Youth can start their appreciation for the arts at a young age by visiting Young Collectors on Saturday and Sunday. For just $5 children can begin their art collecting journey by purchasing their very own piece of hand crafted art by one of the professional artists vending at the festival.

Kids Activities & Activations

• Kiddos can join in on Jr. Knights Training Sessions and make-and-take crowns, brought to you by Presenting Sponsor, Medieval Times! Sessions are happening at 11am and 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday!
• Design and take home a custom LEGO holiday build to put in a clear ornament from Legoland Discovery Center!
• Create and take home a unique upcycled plastic hanging decoration with artist Shari Keith.
• Step inside IDIA’s mobile unit called The Hive, to explore 3D printing, sphero robotics, stop-motion animation and virtual reality!
• Craft your own one-of-a-kind holiday ornament with The Walter Hive using rhinestones, glitter, ribbons, and more—perfect for all ages and ready to hang, gift, or display.
• Fun, large outdoor games, LEGO bricks, and sidewalk chalk
