Animal Crossing Update

You heard it right. “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” is getting a new update on Jan. 15, 2026! This incredible update introduces fresh new characters, furniture, and a “hole” new service (you’ll understand that bad pun in a second). The first of many things we’re going to cover is the brand new Kappa family hotel! In this facility, run by Kapp’n’s family, you can design themed rooms for tourists, earn hotel tickets, and get exclusive merchandise. You can also decorate mannequins with stylish clothes. Tourists can rent these outfits to wear
during their stay! Use compatible amiibos to invite characters to your incredible new hotel.
Have you ever wanted to clean up a large portion of your island all at once? Then Resetti’s Reset Service is for you! Choose to clean up a certain area, the beach- es, or even the “hole” island (did I mention Resetti is a mole? Yeah, that joke is terrible)! You can choose to dispose of flowers and custom designs or put them in storage. If all of this is making you sleepy, then let Luna take you on a trip to your own slumber island! You can do whatever you want there, from building bridges and ramps to altering the time of day and inviting online friends.
Last but definitely not least, some new game collaborations are coming to Animal Crossing! These collabs include LEGO, Splatoon, and The Legend of Zelda. LEGO items are available in Nook Shopping on the App, while Zelda and Splatoon items are available through compatible amiibos. You can even invite the four mashup characters—Tulin, Mineru, Cece, and Viche—to your island!
“Animal Crossing: New Horizons” is available to purchase on the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 systems. The Switch 2 special edition will also be released on Jan. 15 with added perks like the megaphone and improved graphics! Gamers are losing their minds over these new updates, and I don’t blame them. After all, it’s a “hole” (okay, I’ll stop that now) lot to take in! Happy gaming!
