Tucson Comic-Con Brings Excitement

Most weekends you can find my family and me at the movies. I am definitely a huge movie fan. This year I went to Tucson Comic-Con for the first time. I was so excited because I had no idea what to expect

As I walked into the Tucson Convention Center, I was surprised to see several people in costumes. I wondered where they bought their costumes so I asked someone. He was wearing a shiny armored costume that completely covered him from head to toe. He told me he made his costume himself along with the weapons. Although I had no idea who he was, I learned that he was wearing Dragon Armor from a fantasy game called Skyrim. I remember the first time I saw people dress up for Halloween but none of those costumes compared to what I saw at Comic-Con.

I was intimidated by all the people, but once I walked around the entire show I knew where I wanted to go. Since I’m a big movie fan I had to go to the “Immersive Experience.” I saw a tiny table with a guy holding cards. “What are you playing?” I asked.

“Sabacc, it’s the card game that Han Solo played. He won the starship, the Millennium Falcon playing Sabacc,” said the guy playing the game. “Do you want to play a game?” I said, “Yes.” It’s an easy game and
I enjoyed it so much I wanted to get the game. After the “Immersive Experience,” I did some shopping and was able to buy a Labubu doll.

After the show, I asked a few of my classmates what they liked about Comic-Con. My friend Julian Perez said, “It was a really good time seeing how others were dressed up, playing the arcade games, and seeing all the comics I love.”

Juliana Strangio said, “It was my first Comic-Con ever, and I had a great time with my family! There were so many Star Wars fans!”

Juliana continued, “My favorite find was the mini lightsabers! I look forward to going again next year!”

I had a wonderful time, too, and I also look forward to going again next year!
