Lucky Tucson Kid Gets Best Birthday

ANAHEIM, CA—Disneyland really is the “Happiest Place on Earth” for Andres Robles, who got to celebrate his eighth birthday in a very big way on July 3.
His parents, Alejandra and Jose, treated Andres to the trip from Tucson. By chance, Disneyland officials dubbed the kid the theme park’s 1 billionth guest!
Such a milestone is really something to celebrate, and Disneyland planned a spectacular day for Andres and his parents. First, Andres and his family went to Main Street’s train station. Joined by Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Daisy Duck and Donald Duck, along with Disneyland Resort people, Andres helped UNVEIL an updated sign above the station that reads, “Population 1,000,000,000.”
Led by a VIP tour guide, the Robles family got to visit Walt Disney’s private apartment and other behind-the-scenes areas of the 85-acre theme park (the entire Disneyland Resort, including California Adventure, is around 500 acres). As part of Disney’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Andres and his family experienced the new Soarin’ Across America, a flight simulation movie.
Considered the first modern theme park, Disneyland is also winding down its 70th anniversary celebrations. It officially opened on July 17, 1955.
