Tucson Baseball Team delaying start of its home game at Kino Stadium to resolve visa issues

PIMA COUNTY, Oct. 10, 2025 – Tucson Baseball Team is cancelling its season-opening home series in Tucson against the Hermosillo Naranjeros as it works through new information provided by the federal government on the team’s U.S. visa process for the team’s officers and players. The team also may have to cancel the second series that starts Oct. 24.

Team owner Victor Cuevas informed Pima County Oct. 10 that the U.S. Consulate General in Hermosillo had informed the team Oct. 3 it believed that the B1/B2 visas team members issued by the Department of Homeland Security were not valid since the team had relocated its operations to Tucson and suggested the team contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to obtain proper visas.
