Community Goes Bowling with the Cops

We had the opportunity to go to the “Bowling With the Cops” event hosted by the Mesa Police Department on July 30. It took place at Lucky Strike Mesa. We bowled with police officers and detectives, had lots
of fun, and spent time indoors. It was a morning to connect with community members, to enjoy with family and friends, and to meet Mesa Police Officers.

We met Detective T. Cook. He is part of a team that organizes community events. According to Detective
Cook, MPD wants to reach out and touch the hearts of many kids and adults to build a relationship with them. Many times people’s interaction with law enforcement might not be positive. However, through different engagement activities and events, where police officers and residents come together and have a great time, people can see that we all are the same.

A final message from Detective Cook to all readers is that if we get a good education, we can do anything
we want in life. Also, if we follow rules, make good choices, and get a good education, we will achieve success in life.
