DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPoeFest is back to commemorate the works of Edga
 r Allan Poe\, and you can be a part of it all at multiple locations throug
 hout Phoenix\, Arizona this October. PoeFest has been a labor of love for 
 a decade. When PoeFest first opened\, it did so to just six audience membe
 rs. With a packed audience on the third night\, they knew they had somethi
 ng special. The fest includes mainstage productions of Poe’s short stori
 es every weekend during the month of October with Poe’s stories rotating
  nightly. Bookmans is honored to be a sponsor for this awesome writing com
 petition. \n\nHere are the updated rules for 2025:\n\nSTUDENT WRITING COM
 PETITION\nShort Story Contest\n**Eligibility:**\n\n 	Open to all Arizona s
 tudents in 7th\, 8th\, and 9th grades for the 2025-2026 school year.\n 	Ho
 me-schooled students are eligible\n 	Participants must be residents of the
  State of Arizona.\n\n**Submission Guidelines:**\n\n 	Submission deadline:
  Midnight\, October 29\, 2025.\n 	Word count: 1\,000 – 7\,500 words.\n 	
 Genre: Horror and/or mystery.\n 	Stories must be original.\n 	Authors reta
 in all copyrights.\n 	Revised previous submissions are accepted.\n\n**Subm
 ission Process:**\n\n 	Submissions must be in electronic format (Word docu
 ment or PDF) and sent to contest@poefest.org\n 	Each submission must incl
 ude the email and phone number of a parent or Parental/guardian permission
  is required to participate.\n 	Each submission must include the author’
 s name\, birthdate\, school\, and grade for the 2025-2026 school year (hom
 e-schooled students are welcome).\n\n**Judging &amp\; Awards:**\n\n 	One w
 inner will be selected and notified via email and/or phone on October 31\,
  2025 – Winners’ initials and city will be posted on social media afte
 r initial contact.\n 	A panel of judges will evaluate all submissions\n 	P
 rize packages will be provided by Bookmans Entertainment Exchange\n\nPoetr
